येशू ख्रिस्ताचा जन्म दिवस इग्रजी दिनदर्शिकेप्रमाणे दर वर्षी २५ डीसेंबरला साजरा केला जातो. ख्रिस्त जन्म उत्सव डीसेंबर महीन्याच्या शेवटच्या आठवडाभर साजरा केला जातो.
व्रुक्ष सजविण्याची प्रथा युरोपीय देशात प्रथम सुरू झाली.फर,पाईन, कींवा सदाहरित असणाऱ्या झाडाच्या फांद्या सजविण्यात येते.
पारंपरिक पद्धतीने व्रुक्ष सजवितांना कागदाची फुले, फुगे, कागदी रीबीनी,चमचमत्या पट्ट्या, चांदण्या, व लाईटींग करुन सजवीण्यात येते. तसेच या झाडाला चाँकलेट,जिंजर ब्रेड,गोड पदार्थ रंगीत रीबीनी ने बांधण्यात येते. नवनवीन कल्पना वापरून ख्रिसमस ट्री सजविण्यात येतो.
